The cognitive domain of intelligence
Description
ALL THE REST IS NOISE
Augment the brain capabilities to enhance the human being
How far can we push the boundaries of human cognitive capabilities? Despite common myths, humans use no more than 7% of their brains - but is it possible to augment this capacity even further? Without resorting to substances or microchips, advancements in understanding brain function suggest we might enhance its use up to 32%, unlocking "superhuman" abilities that surpass current technological limits.
This evening lecture explores pivotal questions about the future of cognition in the field of intelligence and security. It will delve into the pervasive influence of biases – what are cognitive biases and how can we overcome them to enhance decision-making and analysis – and illustrate the role of nutrition – how does our diet impact our brain performance.
Additionally, the lecture will examine groundbreaking ideas, such as how language might influence our DNA and its potential implications for human evolution and capabilities. The ultimate goal is to equip practitioners and analysts with tools to sharpen their cognitive skills, reduce errors beyond common heuristics, and elevate both operational and strategic analysis.
