Frederik has a MSc-degree in Hydraulic Engineering at Delft University of Technology (DUT). He started as a Hydraulic Engineer for Rijkswaterstaat in 2009 and was involved in projects related to the construction and maintenance of breakwaters, berthing facilities, locks and fairways.
Since 2017 he is a part-time PhD-candidate at DUT in the group of Ports & Waterways, The aim of his research is to analyze climate impact on Inland Waterway Transport and the evaluation of mitigation measures. In 2020 he became an advisor on Inland Navigation at the department of Water, Verkeer & Leefomgeving and became a member of the project team Climate Resilient Networks.
